Welcome to my research page! I am a member of the HCI@Bath Human-Computer Interaction research group at the University of Bath, member of the REal and Virtual Environments Augmentation Lab (REVEAL), and associate of the Centre for the Analysis of Motion, Entertainment Research and Applications (CAMERA). Here you can read about research topics I am currently interested in and working on, research grants, awards, PhD students I (co-)supervise, my peer-reviewed publications, and my professional activities.
Motion correlation is a novel and unique interaction technique where interface elements move in unique trajectories, and a user must mimic the motion of the element in order to make a selection.
My work in this area has focused on how motion correlation can be leveraged for input with any type of motion, including the head, hand, and everyday objects.
Videos are a compelling medium for learning, improving, or practicing a wide variety of skills and exericses.
My research in this area aims to improve the utility of videos by enhancing and augmenting their capabilies.
Earables are wearable computing devices that are worn in or around the ear. Earables are particularly interesting because they can leverage an existing ubiquitous, unobtrusive, discreet, inconspicuous, and non-stigmatizing platform that many people use in the form of earphones or hearing aids.
We have explored over 20 years of research on sensing capabilities of earable devices, covering what can be detected and observed, and what interactions and applications are enabled by the platform.
We have also developed and investigated a unique and novel interaction technique involving the contraction of a small in-ear muscle which a subset of the population can voluntarily contract.
